Cheamites experience their first Tetrathlon
On Sunday a number of Cheamites experienced their first Tetrathlon hosted by Sandroyd School.
The children were challenged with a 3 minute swim, an intricate cross country horse race including 20 jumps, 10 shots at a moving target and a 1500m run around the beautiful grounds in Wiltshire. After an early start for most, the athletes arrived with endless enthusiasm and excitement for the day ahead. The initial nerves were damped by success for all on the run followed by great tenacity in the swimming pool and a true test of keeping calm under pressure on the shooting range. It was in the riding that Team Cheam shone having a full house of clear rounds despite a number of the juniors never having competed on a cross country course before. What a superb day and a great new hobby for us all!
