Year 6 trip to Caerleon
Year 6 were treated to a beautiful sunny day in Wales for their visit to the ancient Roman legionary camp at Caerleon.
Arriving after a smooth journey over the old Severn Bridge, they visited the amphitheatre and remains of the best preserved barracks in Britain. Following this, the groups had a discussion session in the Capricon Centre, a visit to the Baths and Museum as well as looking at a mock up of an Roman contubernium. All in all, it was a lovely day and everyone learned a huge amount about the lives of Roman soldiers and their dependants in Britain in the Roman era.
